Comic No. 1, the first CF comic, was published online on October 31, 2023. Since then, I’ve published 7 more updates, consisting of 70 panels total, and 1 map.
Circadian Forest comic No. 8 marked the end of Chapter 1. The next comic will begin Chapter 2, and will be published um…when I finish it. Given my personal list of priorities, my comic schedule operates on wizard time: a comic update is never late, nor is it early, it arrives precisely when it means to.
I didn’t know if I wanted to separate CF out into chapters when I first started. I wasn’t sure of a lot of things when I first started. Many of those things are more solidified now; many aren’t. And of course, there are sparkly new uncertainties. I landed on a nicely congealed “yes” for chapter divisions after wrapping up No. 8, which feels like a tidy end to a section, allowing a fresh new section to take on its own shape, in its own right.
Right now I’m busy writing the specifics for the next handful of comics, and solidifying the designs for a new building and new characters to be introduced (which is always so dang exciting for me!)
Other news:
Website features that I’m planning for: a glossary page with an image and brief description for each character, and a screen reader-friendly transcript page for each comic.

All my thanks to everyone who has tuned in to the beginning moments of Circadian Forest in Chapter 1; a body of work that I feel stumbled into existence like a slimy baby foal on spindly, unsure legs, and has grown into a young creature with wide curious eyes, still spindly but more agile legs, and a thirst for life.
